Although relatively new, Ortolana is quickly stepping up. Specialising in light seasonal fare, the food is unpretentious yet interesting. Think garden greens and fresh zucchini pasta served in quaint conservatory settings. Most ingredients are produced in Ortolana’s own market garden. The Casereccia pasta, asparagus, truffle butter, yolk and the Hanger steak, fried green tomato, green onion hit the palate delightfully, and you can wash it down with the grapefruit and mint house-made soda or a select line-up of local wines including the Sauvignon Blanc (organic) by Villa Maria. For dessert the Orange cake, pistachio, cardamon blows minds.
